These Terms of Service govern your use of the Serpentype website, font products, trial downloads, and customer account. By using the website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
1. Provider and Scope
Serpentype provides digital font software and related content.
These Terms apply to:
- Website access and account use
- Purchases of font licenses
- Trial font requests and downloads
- Customer support and post-purchase services
2. Contracting and Merchant of Record
Payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles checkout, billing, invoicing, sales tax/VAT collection and remittance where applicable, and payment compliance.
When you purchase, your payment relationship is handled through Paddle's checkout and payment terms in addition to these Terms.
3. Licensing and Permitted Use
Use of purchased fonts is governed by the applicable End User License Agreement (EULA):

No transfer of intellectual property takes place. You receive a non-exclusive license under the relevant EULA.
4. Pricing, Taxes, and Business Customers
Prices are shown at checkout. Taxes (including VAT/sales tax, if applicable) are calculated and displayed by Paddle based on the transaction context and legal requirements.
Business customers are responsible for providing accurate company and billing details.
5. Delivery and Access
After successful payment, download access is provided through your account and/or transaction flow. You are responsible for keeping your login email address accessible.
6. Refunds and Withdrawal
Refund handling is described in our Refund Policy: /refund.
For digital goods, statutory withdrawal rights may be limited or excluded once digital delivery has started, where legally permitted. This does not affect mandatory consumer rights under applicable law.
7. Account and Security
You are responsible for:
- Correct and up-to-date account information
- Protecting login access
- All activity performed through your account
We may suspend or restrict access in case of abuse, fraud, technical attacks, or material violations of these Terms or applicable EULAs.
8. Acceptable Use
You must not:
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
- Interfere with website integrity, availability, or security
- Use the service for unlawful purposes
9. Availability and Changes
We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update, modify, or discontinue parts of the website or service where reasonably required.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Serpentype is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or lost-profit damages.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding conflict-of-law rules, subject to mandatory consumer protection provisions that may apply in your country of residence.
Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, place of jurisdiction is Zurich, Switzerland.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page is the current version.
